The architecture of the plant, which is compatible with the characteristics and the plant’s design, are a happy attempt to conciliate an industrial infrastructure in its surrounding landscape and countryside.
A detailed study of space and colours has overcome the inevitable contrast of differing (industrial, natural and civil) worlds and has furthered a more harmonious and pleasant integration.
To carry out this ambitious plan, Axpo, represented in the past by EGL, worked alongside with the architectural studio, the Frigerio Design Group, which is specialised in integrating industrial and civil buildings into their environmental settings with the aim of meeting up with nature, the history of the place, construction technique and the client’s needs.
The originality of this architectural plan was presented in a touring exhibition "A journey in Slow Architecture" and was shown in the prestigious web magazine, Architectural Record.
